Kurtis Jorgensen – Rose City Nationalists

Welcome to Part 3 of our series on Rose City Nationalists. Today we will look at Kurtis Jorgensen from Newberg, OR who currently resides in Carlton. Based on Kurtis’ membership in a white supremacist organization, he should be considered a threat to his community.

This project is a collaboration between ourselves, Rose City Antifa, and Stumptown Research Collective. In our first article we introduced the organization and its founder Casey Knuteson, followed by our second article which exposed  RCN member Zachary Lambert. If you have any information about Kurtis or any other members of Rose City Nationalists, please reach out to us at [email protected].

Rose City Nationalists have focused a lot of their white supremacist “activism” on Newberg, and Kurtis Jorgensen is one of the reasons why. From his home in nearby Carlton, he is as familiar with the town as is RCN’s founder Casey Knuteson. RCN’s  first ever propaganda video from May 16th, 2022 featured someone who appears to be Kurtis strolling through Newberg and slapping up White Lives Matter stickers like he was marking territory. The individual’s gait from the video on Telegram matches Kurtis’ in other videos as well as his body shape and apparel.

Kurtis stickering in Newberg

Kurtis was present at the first banner drop on June 25 in North Plains, a rural community west of Portland that has a large population of Hispanic agricultural workers. The banner read “Stop the Great Replacement”.

Kurtis during the banner drop

As part of the White Lives Matter “activism initiative” on July 9th, five members of RCN dropped a banner over the Vista Ridge Tunnel in Portland that read “End White Genocide” while waving a sonnenrad flag. The sonnenrad, originally used in by the Nazi  SS, is an overtly fascist symbol used as a replacement swastika by many neo-Nazis. It is used by RCN as one of their primary symbolic elements.

Kurtis also went on a hike in the Tillamook forest with the group on July 27 where they gave Nazi salutes next to their flag.

He returned to Portland with the group on August 6, 2022, when RCN placed a “Reclaim Portland” banner on the Darlene Hooley Pedestrian bridge over I-5 in SW Portland while waving a Sonnenrad flag. Their banner was a local twist on Patriot Front’s slogan “Reclaim America.”

When the group held a “Gender Theory is Poison” banner and sonnenrad flags in Newberg on September 17, Kurtis was there again. He held one end of the large banner for most of that afternoon, with Zachary Lambert  on the other side. Kurtis appeared nervous to one observer, standing silently and avoiding interactions with passerbys while closely following whatever instructions he was given by Casey Knuteson.

Kurtis at the Newberg rally

Kurtis went for another hike in the Tillamook state forest on October 15 with other members of RCN, avoiding a rally hosted by “Newberg Rejects White Supremacy” that had been timed to counter a scheduled White Lives Matter  “day of action”. Kurtis joined his fellow Naizs in giving a sieg heil in front of their fascist flags.

Later in October, Kurtis joined RCN in Eugene, OR where a variety of far-right individuals and groups protested in front of Old Nick’s Pub because of a drag show that the bar was hosting. The protest included far-right protest fixtures like Audra Price, Quincy Franklin, David Willis, and members of the McKenzie River Proud Boys. RCN ran (literally) away from the fights that day, but one of their members threw a Nazi salute in front of cameras.

Bryanna Jorgensen

Kurtis and Bryanna

Spouses and partners of fascists are often not included in articles like this, but we have made an exception in Bryanna’s case. Bryanna Jorgensen (nee Page) publicly came to the defense of RCN on at least one occasion on Facebook. Some community members were responding to RCN’s banner drop and flag wave on the Wynooski Street overpass in Newberg on November 12, 2022. RCN’s banner read “There is No Political Solution”.

This level of interaction demonstrates that not only is Bryanna aware of Kurtis’ membership in a white supremacist organization, but that she actively supports and promotes it. Bryanna’s sister Courtney Lynn Page defended RCN after their September banner and flag wave event in Newberg. Here, Courtney mocks people comparing RCN to Nazis (again, that event included a sonnenrad flag)

We have only briefly touched on the white supremacist stickering and vandalism in the Newberg area, but it is important to note that it is pervasive. Public spaces, along with left-leaning businesses, organizations, and individuals have been targeted. Hateful propaganda campaigns such as this are not only used to recruit, but to intimidate and harass vulnerable community members. It normalizes hateful and violent rhetoric. Ignoring these incidents and the people, like Kurtis, who carry them out will only allow the problems to persist and grow. People like Kurtis make the world a worse place. Please reach out to his employer Local 290 Plumbers and Steamfitters at 503-691-5700 and let them know that, by continuing to pay him and Zachary Lambert, they are supporting his fascist organizing.

That’s all for this edition, we’ll be taking a short break over the holidays but will return in the new year with more info about the membership of Rose City Nationalists.
